Biography: Jacob was born and grew up in California. Tania grew up in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. They met at Simpson College in 1996 and were married in 1999. Before graduating from Simpson each were called separately into missions. They moved to Washington in September of 2000 to do their home service with the C&MA.

Current work/status: The Baileys are part of a team working in northwestern Spain. Through the use of a café, which the team owns and operates, they are making friends with local Spaniards and trying to shine the light of Jesus afresh through both their words and actions. They are hoping to see God bring together community of Christ followers who can proclaim the Kingdom of God together in Spain.

Personal Prayer requests: Continue to pray for the Baileys that they can fully make a transition to life in Spain. Pray specifically for continued perseverance in learning and understanding language and culture.

Ministry Prayer requests: Pray for the café that it will become profitable so that ministry can happen more freely through it. Pray for courage that the team will move with new ideas and implement creative and dynamic ministries as they press forward in relationships with locals. Pray that the team will define further it’s role in terms of a Christian response to increasing levels of African immigration in Spain. Most importantly, pray that the Baileys and their  teammates will be increasingly shaped and transformed by the radical love of God so that they can respond decisively and lovingly to the world around them.
